Click on the name of the project I worked on to find out more about what I brought to each project:

All projects have been completed as a developer for SJWDesign unless otherwise stated as freelance work.

Street Music - 2008

Site no longer available

Completed as freelance work - Street Music is a creative music solutions company. They have arranged music compilations, albums and art work for many well-known artists. The site was designed to act as a basic portfolio of existing work with a contact form to allow direct emailing.

Operation Wellfound - May 2010

I was asked to alter and adapt various elements of the site which was running off of a bespoke WordPress template. I added in a contact form on the contact us page for additional email support. Alterations to the WordPress posting system were made so that the post date only displayed on the news feed page. Changes to the format of characters were made to the projects tab navigation list. One of my main focuses for this project was to create a "Read More" function for certain posts on the project pages. I used jQuery to perform a sliding-down display of additional text for the reader to simply click on.

Pickled Green - June 2010

Unfortunately Pickled Green has now closed its doors

Pickled Green is a restaurant run by a Scotsman and a Belgian. Both are passionate about food how best to enjoy it. The site reflects the strong ideals of Pickled Green, with several custom content pages, displaying dynamic information from the WordPress CMS running the blog on the site, providing updates. My primary involvement here was to edit some of the menu styling, improving drop-down functionality and also certain aspects of the WordPress setup.

Iris Barnes School of Dance - 2010

The Iris Barnes School of Dance site was a really nice project to work on. My role was to apply the site theme, via WordPress CMS running on the site, to match the design I'd been given. I really enjoy working with WordPress and theming a site from a PSD design (for example). This site provides essential information to the members of the Dance School and allows for news updates to be delivered vy the WordPress setup.

Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre - August 2010

My work with the Cat & Rabbit Rescue Centre has consisted of site updates, with both content (text and images) and CSS and HTML changes. I have also helped to format several of their monthly e-newsletters sent out to their subscribed users. It is a great cause and I am always happy to give my time to such a worth charity.

Chuckies Pictures - September 2010

Completed as freelance work - Chuckies Pictures offers customers the chance to purchase from a wide variety of personaliable pictures which can be mounted or turned into mousemats, designed as perfect gifts for any occasion. I implemented a WordPress CMS setup to allow the client to add new content easily and without requiring additional development a new item needed adding. I applied a WordPress e-commerce plugin to deal with the product listing and purchasing processes. I also created some custom code to allow personalisation options to be display on each product page and appear upon the checkout for the customer to review.

Beetroot Grill and Cafe - December 2010

Unfortunately Beetroot Grill and Cafe has now closed its doors

Beetroot Grill and Cafe was another site I really enjoyed working on, as again it uses WordPress as the core system. I ran through the whole installation process once the site design had been provided and set about setting up WordPress and creating the custom theme you can see on the site. I implemented several custom page to allow for additional functionality, including some coding I created to dynamically pull the most recent news posts via WordPress to the homepage.

Lightbox London - January 2011

Lightbox London is a property company based in South London. The site was designed to display the companies purpose and uniqueness in the property market. This was another WordPress custom theming site, this time with a slider effect, adding a dynamic edge to images and pages.

I Do it Right - First quarter of 2011

I Do it Right is part of the AHPN (African Health Policy Network), supported by the NAHIP (National African HIV Prevention Programme) and the NHS. The Project required a lot of careful planning and organisation, of which I was lucky enough to have an active role in, providing advice and support to what would be required of the site and how best to go about it. I worked on the custom theming of the site, using WordPress CMS to manage the content. I also added a forum to the site, to allow for online discussion, should this feature be needed. I learnt about integrating the forum with WordPress using forum software bbpress. Integration of a specialised search function provided by one of the supporting networks was also added in, giving me a chance to work with WordPress widgets and creating one for myself.

Stripe Design Group - Summer 2011

Stripe Design Group has a store in Santa Cruz, CA in the USA. Their site provides customer information, product updates and news items along with an online store. I have previously helped to setup their e-commerce store but this time around, I was working to deliver an improved information section of the site. The Services section of the site now features 6 areas for a user to view numerous products, ideas and services provided by the Stripe Design Group. Each page features an image slideshow of the relevant content images and text descriptions.

I hope the above projects have given you some insight into what I can achieve, having worked on several projects implementing various different methods of coding and languages that I have learnt and am improving all the time with each new project.
